Adolescent Individual & Group Therapy

Helping teens and women address anxiety, panic, OCD, and phobias so that you can feel peace and confidently face situations.

Do you feel like you’re always wondering if something terrible is going to happen? Are you struggling with frequent thoughts of panic, danger, or doom? Do you feel exhausted and overwhelmed? Maybe you even feel paralyzed by a phobia?

Anxiety therapy can help you gently face your fears so you can walk into a new situation more confidently and peacefully.

What is Anxiety Therapy?

Anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety, social anxiety, testing anxiety, phobias, panic disorder, and OCD can all be debilitating when left untreated. I’m here to provide you with hope that anxiety disorders are very treatable! You don’t have to suffer alone anymore.

When we start working together, my goal is to understand when your anxiety began, how it affects you, and the common triggers that worsen your anxiety. Together, we will explore these patterns and the fears associated with them. Next, I will use strategies from Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). ERP is the gold standard in treating anxiety disorders. The rationale behind this treatment is that the more we avoid things that make us anxious, the more anxious we become. I will help gradually and gently expose you to your fears safely so you can build confidence and trust in yourself.

Work with a Hypnotherapist

Emily R. Siegel, MSW, LCSW, CCH

I am a Licensed Psychotherapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist with special expertise in anxiety therapy. I have been working with women and adolescents since 2010 and am passionate about helping you uncover your strengths and surprise yourself through overcoming your fears.

I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a technique to help you prevent safety behaviors or compulsive responses to your anxiety triggers. Instead of neutralizing your anxiety with these behaviors, I help you realize that you have the courage and strength within you to face your anxiety. ERP is fundamentally about shifting your perspective of unpleasant thoughts and feelings, but not pushing them away. By working individually with you, I help you tolerate discomfort and confidently trust that you can handle your fears. I also have special training in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy which complement ERP.

"Helping adolescents enhance self-esteem so they can feel hopeful and courageous."

Does your daughter seem lost, unmotivated, anxious, or out of control? Are you struggling with feeling disconnected from her? Do you feel like no matter how much you try to help, she just doesn’t hear your concerns?

Adolescent therapy can help her confront her fears so she can feel hopeful and empowered to accomplish her goals and become part of the family again.

What is Adolescent Therapy?

While the teen years can be an exciting adventure for parents and daughters alike, teens are living in a competitive and media-driven world. During an already challenging developmental time, teens are at a biological and hormonal disadvantage. The frontal lobe, which is the part of the brain that controls our decision-making ability is underdeveloped in comparison to the amygdala, which is the center of emotional responses like fear and anger. Imagine driving a car with your foot on the gas full-speed without knowing when or how to tap, or in some cases, even slam on the brakes. This is the experience for many teen girls before even adding mental health issues to the mix. Adolescent Therapy can help.

In addition, if your daughter is struggling with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, low self-esteem, or self-harm, don’t wait for any of these issues to escalate. Adolescent Therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental environment for your teen to process and explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Throughout the therapeutic process, your daughter will develop greater insight and learn new strategies to improve communication, regulate emotions, and practice self-care.

"Sometimes, adolescents need extra support and guidance to help them navigate challenging expectations at school, home, or in their friend groups. "
