If you have been experiencing constant sadness, isolation, or poor motivation over the past two weeks or longer, you may be experiencing clinical depression. You may feel afraid to share how you are feeling, or perhaps you’re wondering if anyone could possibly understand you. Even when you try to talk to well- intended friends and family, they just don’t seem to get it. Speaking with a depression therapist provides you a safe, validating, and confidential environment to explore and process whatever it is you are thinking and feeling.
When we start working together, my goal is to understand when your depression began, how it affects you, and the triggers that may make your depression symptoms worse. I will help you explore and process any thoughts, feelings and behaviors that either negatively or positively impact your mood. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), hypnotherapy, and psychodynamic interventions will assist you in improving your mood and decreasing your depression symptoms.
While working with you, I provide referrals to psychiatrists and collaborate with them if you require medication. Additionally, I collaborate with your primary care physician or gynecologist about any potential underlying medical concerns contributing to mood.
