Psychotherapy can benefit people in various stages of life facing a variety of concerns. Whether you are struggling with a severe mental illness, a major transition in your life, or dealing with ongoing stress, therapy can help you feel heard, develop greater insight, and redirect unhealthy patterns. Psychotherapy has become far less stigmatized over recent years. In fact, seeking out psychotherapy is seen as courageous and responsible when you know that you are in need of greater support and clinical, professional guidance. It can benefit almost anyone.

First, we will start with a 10 minute complimentary video or phone discovery consultation to determine if I am the best fit for your needs. Then, we will schedule an intake appointment and I will send you paperwork outlining my policies which takes 25 minutes to complete online. We will meet either online or in person depending on your preference for each session. I will suggest the frequency of sessions to get started either weekly or biweekly depending on your personalized treatment plan.

Many assume that psychotherapy is intimidating, but I consistently receive feedback that I provide a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable environment. My goal is to listen to you, validate your fears and guide you in moving forward towards your goals. I offer a collaborative process and encourage each client to feel comfortable providing me with feedback throughout therapy.

Hypnotherapy is a type of mind-body intervention in which hypnosis calms the nervous system to create a state of focused attention and concentration. You, the client, are in complete control throughout hypnotherapy. You may also experience heightened suggestibility directed towards the treatment of your psychological concern.

Hypnotherapy is effective in treating addiction, trauma, anxiety, specific phobias, low self-esteem, negative habits, and more. Some clients choose to integrate hypnotherapy into every session whether it is for a few minutes, or the entirety of the session. Other clients may choose to try hypnosis a few times, or not at all. While I may encourage hypnotherapy to treat specific concerns, it is your choice as the client. For more information about hypnotherapy, please (include link to hypnotherapy page).

Many clients report an uplifted mood and sense of relief even after the first session. I offer a collaborative treatment process for each of my clients so we will address your presenting concerns and then develop goals and objectives for each of them. Utilizing my clinical expertise and clinical intuition, I will decide on what interventions will work best to treat your concerns and/or diagnosis.

On average, a client will be in therapy over the course of 6-8 months attending therapy weekly for the first 2-3 months, then biweekly for the remainder of treatment. Every individual is unique so treatment is tailored to you and your needs meaning there can be several exceptions to the average. I have seen clients for 3 months feel better and leave therapy, but I have also worked with clients for several years to maintain their therapeutic progress. It all depends on your unique situation and individual needs, or needs as a family or couple. You are always welcome to return to therapy in the future as well after completing your first course of psychotherapy and/or hypnotherapy.

Yes, I am continuing to see clients in person during these challenging times. I stay up to date with all CDC requirements. Many clients report an uplifted mood and sense of relief even after the first session. While there are many benefits to therapy, there are also risks.
