Do you feel overwhelmed by addiction, or by something from your past? Are you having trouble engaging in self-care, social activities, or important obligations? Do you feel like you’re stuck in unhealthy patterns?

Together, we will find the root of these issues so you can live without trauma, addiction, or unhealthy relationships getting in the way of the person you want to become.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Because there are myths portrayed throughout the media about hypnotherapy, some people are understandably apprehensive about considering this type of treatment. Once you learn about the many benefits, you will likely find that trying hypnotherapy is worthwhile. Do you often have the experience of understanding intellectually/cognitively what you need to do in order to make a change, but applying this knowledge emotionally and behaviorally is a completely different story? Hypnotherapy is a safe process that involves being in a trance while highly relaxed and in complete control, but more open to suggestion. This creates lasting change on both the subconscious level and conscious level.

Together, we will discuss your goals prior to beginning hypnotherapy, and I will utilize primarily your words from the clinical interview to assist you in overcoming addiction, creating a new context around a traumatic experience (or multiple traumatic experiences), improving self-esteem, and more. Most clients enjoy hypnotherapy and find emotional relief almost right away. Oftentimes, clients appreciate a recording of their hypnotherapy sessions to turn to outside of therapy in times of distress. Some choose to do hypnotherapy once or twice and others like to include some hypnotherapy in nearly every session.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychotherapist, and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist with special expertise in hypnotherapy. I have been working with adolescents, women, and couples since 2008 and am passionate about helping you overcome memories, feelings, and behaviors that hold you back from living to your fullest potential.

I also have special training in psychotherapy to complement hypnotherapy.

"Helping adolescents and women confront trauma so you can begin your journey of healing, restore your life, and feel whole again."

Do you feel on edge all the time and avoid things that remind you of a particular event? Are you having trouble concentrating, sleeping, or finding pleasure in the things you once enjoyed? Do you feel scared, out of control, or hopeless?

Trauma therapy can help you overcome distressing thoughts or memories about the past so you can begin to heal and feel like yourself again.

What is Trauma Therapy?

Trauma is at the root of several psychological issues. Trauma often remains underground since it feels overwhelming to address, yet it can be the driving force behind unwanted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Trauma may occur in childhood, or at any point throughout the lifespan. It can be a discrete, isolated event such as a car accident or a sexual assault. Complex trauma; however, involves ongoing trauma, such as: childhood abuse, domestic violence, or military deployment. If you went through something traumatic, you may feel alone, out of control, or hopeless. You might be wondering if this pain will ever go away. Whatever it is that has happened to you, trauma therapy can help you build strength and resilience.

Post-traumatic stress injury and related issues are treatable medical conditions. I use hypnotherapy so traumatic memory is reprocessed and reconsolidated into the past. Throughout clinical hypnosis sessions, I ensure that my clients are safe, present, and grounded. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and relational therapy are also effective interventions I use when helping my clients resolve trauma. Since negative thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and environmental scanning no longer feel required for your psychological survival, trauma therapy can help you develop a sense of freedom.
